PLAYER BORROWING GRID/POLICY FOR WINTER COMPETITION

This grid is a guide to borrowing players in RNA Winter competition. If you are UNSURE please check with the Competition Convenor. All borrowed players must be recorded on the E-Score team line up.

Lateral borrowing must only be used to ensure there are sufficient players to take the court for a game to proceed and must follow these conditions:

Clubs with two or more teams in the same grade may borrow from each team regardless of team numbering when no other reasonable borrowing option exists.

  • No regular team member must be sidelined for players who have been laterally borrowed.
  • Only two players are allowed to be borrowed laterally in any one game.
  • After two players have been borrowed laterally, if there is injury, illness, or absence during a game, a replacement player must come from a lower team following Playing-Up guidelines as published.
  • A player can only be laterally borrowed twice during the season, and these games will be added to the number of times played up as per the playing up rules. For example, if a player is borrowed twice laterally, they can only play for another team once more before they must move if borrowed again.
  • If a player has been laterally borrowed twice, they cannot be laterally borrowed in the finals.
  • A player in contravention of this policy, the player will be deemed ineligible and the consequence is as per Competition policy – Ineligible Players.
