Forfeit Policy

Teams forfeiting must provide sufficient notice (3 hours) to the opposing team.

Contact should be made with the Club Secretary either via email or phone and must receive confirmation by the Club receiving the forfeit, and

• Notify the appropriate Competition Coordinator advising of the forfeit.
• Teams failing to notify the opposing team of an intended forfeit will be subject to a fine of $50.00.

Teams that have not been notified of a forfeit by the opposing team can invoice the Association for an amount of $30. This amount being payable for umpiring duties for the umpire that was allocated to the team that received the non-notified forfeit. 

Once the team who forfeited without notice pays the fine, the $30 will be paid by the Association’s Treasurer to the team that received the non-notified forfeit. The balance of the fine of $20 will be payable to the Association.

All players in a team receiving a forfeit are permitted to player for another team in a higher grade. The 2nd Game Rule does not apply.

If a player plays up into another team after receiving a forfeit, they will only get credited for one (1) game.

Up to 4 players from a forfeiting team are eligible to play for another team on the day of the forfeit.

A forfeit may be declared after to 5 mins from the scheduled stating time of the game when the opposing team has less than 5 players able to take the court.

Any team forfeiting on three consecutive occasions during the competition maybe withdrawn from the competition.

In the event, a team forfeits a match, and subsequently, RNA executive cancels match play, e.g., adverse weather, the forfeit is void and no points will be awarded.
