COACHES ARE A DRIVING FORCE IN ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NETBALL NSW & GATORADE, RNA IS COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING ALL COACHES WITHIN A CULTURE GROUNDED IN RESPECT AND COLLABORATION

Coaches play a vital role in shaping the participation experience and guiding players along the athlete development pathway. Netball Australia supports this journey through national policies, accreditation frameworks and development programs that equip thousands of coaches across the country. RNA coaches have remained highly engaged, continuing to complete and update their accreditation to ensure best practice.

The RNA Coaching Committee will continue to prioritise meaningful development opportunities for both Representative and Club coaches, strengthening capability across all levels of the game.

COACHING REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS FOR RNA

Coaching Opportunities

RNA is committed to delivering an inclusive and enjoyable Representative program that fosters personal growth, development and a strong sense of achievement; they are integral to the representative pathways of RNA athletes providing not only the opportunity to extend netball skills but also the opportunity to develop essential performance attributes of athletes embarking on their development pathway in netball.

RNA Representative Coaches report to the Coaching Convenor, who in turn reports to the RNA Executive. Coaches are expected to work collaboratively with the Executive and their fellow coaches to ensure a coordinated and consistent delivery of the coaching program.

What accreditation do I need to coach representative netball at RNA?

Netball NSW has updated their coaching requirements for State Titles coaches.  All head coaches at Junior & Senior State Titles must hold a current Intermediate level accreditation.

All Assistant Coaches at Junior & Senior state titles must hold a current Development level accreditation.

Coaches applying for all other coaching roles must hold or be working towards a minimum of Development Coaching Accreditation.

Head Coaches for Metro must have minimum Intermediate Coaching Accreditation.

If you need assistance to achieve this please email coaching@randwicknetball.com.au.

Coaching Application and Allocation

Coach allocation is a critical process, undertaken by a Coach Selection Committee that includes independent, qualified coaches. Recommendations for appointments are informed by information provided by coach nominees, along with player and family survey feedback from both the current and previous seasons.

In making Recommendations:

  • The strengths of various coaches on different age groups from both technical & tactical perspectives and experience is considered.
  • Feedback received in Rep Surveys is considered.
  • Coaches are requested to reflect on their experience and any specific feedback as relevant.
  • The process does not focus on any particular age group but is aimed to maximise the benefit of our coaches across the entire Representative Program.
